Former state Sen. Tom Wiens, of Douglas County, has announced he is running for the U.S. Senate.
As of the end of the business day Nov. 2, Douglas County had received 37,332 ballots, the highest number of people ever to vote in a school board election in Douglas County.
Three new faces, and one familiar one, will round out the Douglas County School Board, tasked with important financial decisions along with the responsibility of hiring a new superintendent.
