Stone Ridge Village residents won their fight against Black Hills Energy when, at their first November meeting, Woodland Park City Council denied the company’s applications for a conditional use permit and an amendment to the Stone Ridge planned unit development permit.


For the 11th or 12th year, the second week in November is Drive Smart Week at Woodland Park High School. Student council secretaries are planning the big event hoping for a third win in the Drive Smart competition, which the school won in 2007 and 2008.


While the questions were probing, the mood was mainly upbeat about a proposed YMCA in Woodland Park. In a public meeting chaired by Neil Levy, who heads a committee dedicated to building the facility, about 65 people gathered at the Ute Pass Cultural Center on Nov. 4 to hear the details.

American going from New York to England. There’s a drunken stockbroker, a hopeless romantic, an evangelist turned nightclub singer, a debutante, her mother and her hapless soon-to-be husband.”


In the national movement toward sustainability, in food production and health maintenance, the annual holistic fair in Woodland Park has been at the head of the line for years.
