Heritage, Arapahoe athletes sign early

It’s that time again.
Actually, it isn’t that time yet, but since there are so many student athletes between Arapahoe and Heritage high schools making an official commitment to play sports and accept scholarships to the next level, the Warriors and Eagles’ athletic departments had to make it that time again.
Arapahoe’s baseball program had two students put pen to paper Nov. 11 at the school in Littleton during a ceremony to honor the pair. The Warriors’ Brian Guymon and Mark Hutmacher will move on to the college diamond.
Guymon signed his commitment to play ball at Stanford University in California. Hutmacher made his agreement to play for St. Peter’s College in New Jersey.
Across town at Heritage, four student athletes signed to continue their respective sports careers, including two from Eagles girls basketball, Kim Lockridge and Sullivan Ziegler. Lockridge signed her commitment to play for the University of Northern Colorado, while Ziegler will head off to play for Metro State University in Denver.
From Eagles volleyball, Sarah Jaeckel made her choice to play the nets for Seattle University, while multi-sport athletes Shane Opitz made his commitment to continue his baseball career with the University of Nebraska.
