Rev. Gentile comes to ordane, install ministers
The Rev. Wanda Gentile, district ecclesiastical representative of the United Centers for Spiritual Living, will visit Castle Rock on Nov. 22 for the ordination of the Rev. Marilyn Lewis and the installation of the Rev. Rose O’Connel as assistant minister of the Center for Spiritual Living of Castle Rock. A procession of ministers from throughout Colorado will provide support for this joyous celebration.
Before becoming eligible for ordination, Lewis had to complete at least two years of continuous, active service as a licensed minister and pass a review by a panel of other ordained ministers. Unlike other denominations, the United Centers for Spiritual Living does not ordain its ministers upon graduation from seminary or ministerial school, but instead allows ministers to work in the field before they fully commit their lives to ministry.
For Lewis, ordination then becomes the public acknowledgment of her commitment to the church and is the most important moment of her ministry.
The Center for Spiritual Living is a Religious Science Church that meets at 10 a.m. Sundays at the Castle Rock Recreation Center, 2301 Woodlands Blvd., in Castle Rock. Its vision is “to be a vibrant center of spiritual light, affirming each person’s unique and divine value while embracing peace and love for ourselves and our world.”
The center has an outreach program that provides supplies, funds and service for Douglas County and throughout the world. Ministers teach classes designed to help people learn spiritual principles to empower their lives.
