Forest Service suspends firewood sales until spring
U.S. Forest Service-Pike National Forest, Pikes Peak Ranger District will discontinue selling fuelwood permits Nov. 6 at 4:30 p.m. All permits will be valid for 30 days after the purchase date.
Ranger Brent Botts is temporarily suspending permit sales due to snowy weather conditions and the lack of access to the fuelwood cutting areas. Permit sales will resume in March or April 2010 when the ground is dry and allows for easier access to the firewood.
For further information call the Pikes Peak Ranger District office at 719-636-1602, or access the District’s webpage at http://www.fs.fed.us/r2/psicc/pp.
