Parker son enters cadet training at academy
Daniel J. Thompson has entered basic cadet training at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, in preparation to enter the first academic year at the academy. He is the son of David and Mary Thompson, of Parker. Thompson is a 2009 graduate of Chaparral High School, Parker.
Airman Francis Randazzo completes basic training
U.S. Air Force Airman Francis G. Randazzo graduated Sept. 17 from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Larry and Wendy Randazzo, of Parker. He is a 2009 graduate of Chaparral High School, Parker. He will be stationed in Goodfellow, Texas, for his intelligence job.
Private Matthew Wiebers completes basic training
U.S. Army Pvt. Matthew R. Wiebers has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. He is the son of Ronald Wiebers, of Parker, and Jeanett Luckette, of Thornton.
Maj. Tongren honored for overseas service
Maj. Kurt Tongren, of Parker, was recognized for service overseas as part of the 138 Fighter Squadron. He was one of more than 600 members of the New York Air National Guard who received recognition Oct. 13 during the 174th Fighter Wing Hometown Heroes Salute ceremony for all units on the Air National Guard Base in Syracuse. The program recognizes airmen who deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom (operations in Afghanistan) since Sept. 11, 2001.

U.S. Army Reserve Pvt. Peter E. Jensen has graduated from basic military training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla., under the Split-option Enlistment Program to serve as a member of the Army National Guard or Reserve. He is the son of Trent and Sharon Jensen, of Parker. The private is a student at Chaparral High School, Parker.
Willson graduates from Army ROTC course
Stephen L. Willson graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as "Operation Warrior Forge," at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash. The cadet is a student at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is the son of Don L. and Joan M. Willson of Parker. Willson is a 2006 graduate of Chaparral High School, Parker.
Bostwick graduates from basic military training
U.S. Air Force Airman Jared K. Bostwick graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Roger Bostwick, of Parker, and Jeanette Bostwick, of Lakewood. Bostwick is a 2009 graduate of Legacy Academy, Elizabeth.
