Free offer to stay sharp, focused

Published: 10.28.09
With the calendar year coming to an end and holidays just around the corner, it is easy to begin making excuses and put things off until the beginning of the year. This is a bad move as there is no time like the present to make things happen now and position ourselves for success in the future.

It’s important to finish the year strong, remaining on top of our game with a laser focus on the activities that will yield the most productivity and that will have us hitting the ground running in the New Year.

So in the spirit of giving back this holiday season, and to assist in keeping people and companies on top of their game, I am offering my services to 12 organizations or associations in Colorado looking to motivate, inspire or educate their teams. You can choose as many or as few people to participate, and I will come to the location of your choice. The session will be up to one hour, and you can choose the topic to be covered including Sales, Sales Management, Personal Motivation, Leadership, Strategies for Success, or Strategic Planning.

The event can be planned as a “Lunch and Learn” session, a morning kickoff meeting, an evening keynote or at anytime that works best for you, your organization, or your staff.

To be eligible, please e-mail me at msnorton@comcast.net and tell me which program from the above mentioned topics that you would like to focus on and why. The top 12 submissions will be selected and receive a free one hour session for your team. Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, sense of urgency, purpose and passion.

I have heard it said from some managers that they simply don’t have time to work on motivation or communication, or training and development for their teams. Others have shared that with turnover being what it is and the economy in its current condition they just don’t want to make the investment in training only to have their people leave. Well, would you rather not train them and have them stay? Probably not right? And as far as not having the time, it is so important to make the time to develop the people on our teams in order to meet with the success we expect in the future.

Everyone is looking for an advantage these days. We can all use a little positive reinforcement and inspiration and just that shot in the arm. With morale reaching new lows and competition reaching all time highs take the time to let me know what you would like to accomplish and how I can help at msnorton@comcast.net and together we can make it a better than good finish to the year and an incredible start to 2010.
