Castle Rock seniors raffle quilt for fundraiser
Ada Smith won a quilt Oct. 17 when her name was drawn during the Castle Rock Senior Center raffle. The quilt was made by Lois Routh, a local resident and volunteer.
When Smith picked up her prize, she was asked what she would do with the quilt.
“Probably it will go in our spare bedroom," she said.
Ada and her husband had purchased 15 tickets in hopes of wining the quilt.
The quilt had won a blue ribbon when entered in a quilt show in Deckers and third place in the Douglas County Fair.
The quilt raffle was a fundraiser for the Castle Rock Senior Center. Sales totaled $1,564 for a net profit of $1171.33. Thank you to all who purchased a ticket.
