Being indoors, district volleyball action wasn’t affected by the recent winter storm that cut through Denver and surrounding areas.
Teams from Douglas County and the Continental League fought to keep their respective seasons going and gain a bid for regional action this coming weekend.

Chaparral (5A)
Chaparral went undefeated at the Class 5A District 5 tournament without even dropping a game. The hosting Wolverines beat Hinkley 3-0, Columbine 3-0, Ralston Valley 3-0 and Regis 3-0 to claim the D-5 title.
Highlands Ranch (5A)
Highlands Ranch, which played host to the 5A District 1 tournament, also won the district title having gone undefeated. The Falcons beat Westminster 3-0, Brighton 3-0, Fairview 3-0 and Lakewood 3-2.
Legend (3A)
Legend qualified for the Class 3A District 5 tournament at Colorado Springs Christian School in Colorado Springs. The Titans lost its three matches.
Legend fell to CSCS 3-0, Manitou Springs 3-0 and Gunnison 3-2.
Mountain Vista (5A)
Mountain Vista qualified for the 5A District 8 tournament at Monarch. There, the Golden Eagles lost to Monarch 3-2 and lost to Ponderosa 3-1. Other highlights were not reported.
Ponderosa (5A)
Ponderosa only lost one game out of all its matches at the District 8 tournament at Monarch, and it was to another Continental League team from Douglas County. The Mustangs beat Mountain Vista 3-1, Monarch 3-0, Standley Lake 3-0 and Poudre 3-0.
Rock Canyon (4A)
In the Class 4A playoffs, Rock Canyon qualified for the District 7 tournament at Eagle Valley High School alongside Valor Christian, Glenwood Springs, Battle Mountain and Moffat County. Results from the tournament were unavailable by press time.
ThunderRidge (5A)
ThunderRidge qualified for the 5A District 7 tournament at Denver East alongside Cherry Creek, Legacy, Rocky Mountain, East and Montbello. Results from the tournament were unavailable by press time.
