Man on roof?
Deputy Jason Cirbo responded to a call in the 300 block of Jupiter Drive in Acres Green on a possible burglary in progress.
The residents heard what sounded like a person walking on the roof just before 3 a.m. Oct. 25.
The homeowner woke from the noise and asked her adult son if he had been on the roof. He said no, and went outside to investigate. He told Cirbo that he saw the glow of a mobile phone screen and a man with long dark hair wearing tan trousers and a pea coat. He spoke to the man who ran down Jupiter Drive and then to Saturn Place.
The deputy reported that no signs of entry were evident at the home and no one matching the description was found in the area.
DUI arrest
A Douglas County deputy watched a maroon car repeatedly swerve across dotted lines on University Boulevard at 1:36 a.m. Oct. 25.
The driver was heading west and approaching Cresthill Lane when he was noticed.
The deputy followed the car, and noted some U-turns, which the deputy interpreted as evasive moves.
The deputy pulled the car over and said he saw numerous beer cans and a case box in the back seat.
The driver had a strong odor of alcohol, the deputy reported. The driver’s eyes were glassy and bloodshot, and his speech was slow, the deputy said.
The driver said he had one beer at 6 p.m., and he didn’t have a drivers license with him, but gave his name and birth date.
The deputy asked the driver, Garret Lee Murphy, 21, of Highlands Ranch to perform roadside maneuvers. Murphy agreed, and also agreed to a blood alcohol test and opted for a blood test.
The deputy and Murphy went to a hospital for the test and Murphy was arrested on charges of driving under the influence.
