Attempted shoplifting
A man attempted to shoplift a pair of work gloves valued at $19 from King Soopers, 8672 S. Quebec St.
The man allegedly took a pair of gloves and walked out of the store, Oct. 23 just before midnight.
A loss-prevention officer for the store confronted the man in the parking lot and escorted him back in the store.
When deputies arrived, the man told officers that he has served prison time in 2003 for menacing and was convicted on parole violation and served time in the Douglas County jail. He also said he was trying to “live the right way” and needed gloves for work as a painter.
