Search for ACC president under way
By Holly Cook
Arapahoe Community College is seeking an innovative, charismatic and inspirational leader capable of leading the college to new levels of excellence.
In other words, the national search for former President of Arapahoe Community College Bert Glandon’s successor is under way.
“The goal is to have an expeditious but comprehensive search,” said interim President Linda Bowman.
“Our imperative is to continue to move forward on the important initiatives that are under way. The search for the next president is an important journey for the college.”
Applicants must have the educational credentials and executive leadership experience necessary to earn the respect and trust of the academic and business communities, according to the official presidential search brochure.
A baccalaureate degree is the minimum qualification with advanced degrees highly preferred.
Significant prior executive leadership responsibility and experience in an organization of similar size and complexity is required.
The college president reports to, and is under the supervision of, the Colorado Community College System president. Salary and benefits package is highly competitive and commensurate with education and experience.
Applicants must submit a cover letter describing qualifications and experience as they relate to the position, a current resume; a copy of transcripts for all degrees completed, and references to: Presidential.Search@cccs.edu. Or they may be mailed to: Colorado Community College System, c/o Cindy Hesse, Search Consultant, 9101 East Lowry Boulevard, Denver, CO 80203.
Specific questions regarding the position requirements, the college or the search process can be directed to Ms. Hesse at Presidential.
Search@cccs.edu or by phone to (303) 710-1947. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled; however, it was anticipated that an initial screening of applications would begin on or about Oct. 14.
“I am well aware that Arapahoe Community College is known for quality instruction, strong financial management, and innovative strategies,” Bowman said. “I have had the opportunity to work with many members of the ACC faculty and staff, so I know that there are critical initiatives underway. I am looking forward to supporting these efforts as we move ahead, while the important search for the next president of ACC takes place.”
