Spinning Dream wins title at horse competition
Locally owned Paint Horse Spinning Dream, owned by Patsy Meehan, of Highlands Ranch, captured a World Championship title recently at the 2009 Summer World Championship Paint Horse Show. The show, which was June 24 to July 4 in Fort Worth, Texas, is one of the American Paint Horse Association’s premier events.
Spinning Dream was shown to the Junior Reining Championship by Devin Warren, of Franktown. In the class, competitors are judged on correctly performing a selected pattern including lead changes, transitions in speed, sliding stops, backing, roll-backs and multiple spins. The 5-year-old mare bested a field of 18 for the win.
Open competitors may be youth, amateurs, or professional trainers, and they can compete on their own horses or those owned by another individual.
Highlands Ranch’s Jacobs to compete in pageant
Brianna LeiLani Jacobs, 20, of Highlands Ranch, will compete Nov. 1 in the Miss Colorado USA pageant in Greeley.
