Leaf-tire roundup being held Nov. 1 and 8

Again this year, the cities of Englewood and Littleton work in conjunction with recycling companies in offering residents of the two cities an opportunity to recycle leaves and tires instead of putting them in the trash.
The initial event, called the Leaf and Tire Roundup, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 1 at Mountain States Wood Recyclers at 2300 W. Radcliff Ave. in Sheridan
The second session will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 8 at the same location.
The event is for residents of the two cities and the volunteers will not accept materials from commercial companies such as lawn service firms. Also, the only things accepted are leaves and tires. The drop-off isn’t for for grass clippings, tree branches or other yard waste.
There is no charge to drop off leaves. There is a cost of $1.50 for each tire dropped at the site and the fee is $5 if the tire is mounted on a rim. An additional fee is added for oversized tires. Organizers do ask that residents leave leaf bags untied because it makes them easier to unload and dump. They also ask that no oversized tractor or truck tires be brought to the roundup.
This is a new location for the event. Mountain States Wood Recyclers is located just off the South Santa Fe frontage road between Oxford and Union avenues.
