By Tom Munds
The Nov. 9 trial date for Rayner Ramarui was vacated after the defendant entered a guilty plea to charges of second-degree murder and aggravated robbery in the 2008 stabbing death of Melissa Lewandowski.
The two charges carry a combined 75 years in prison but how much time Ramarui will spend in prison will be handed down at the Dec. 31 sentencing hearing.
Acting on information provided by Denver officers, Englewood police found Lewandowski on July 19, 2008 in her apartment at 3300 S. Clarkson St. The same day, they arrested Ramarui as a suspect in the case.
The autopsy performed on the 20-year-old confirmed her identity and reported she died from multiple stab wounds.
