Election division counting ballots
The Arapahoe County Election Division saw ballots pouring in starting Nov. 2, so by midday of election day, more than 60,000 had arrived.
That equates to about 20 percent of the ballots sent to active registered voters in the county. Nancy Doty, Arapahoe County Clerk and Recorder, said she expects the total to climb to near 70,000 before the polls close at 7 p.m.
Dozens of election workers opened, sorted and counted ballots throughout the day with the first results scheduled to be released soon after the polls close.
