Alphonso McDaniels, 30, has been charged with second-degree assault after stabbing Delmar Traylor outside the Arapahoe County District Courthouse following a divorce hearing.

Traylor, 40, has been charged with assault in the third degree, a class one misdemeanor.

Traylor and McDaniels got into an argument in the parking lot of the courthouse, where Traylor grabbed McDaniels and a struggle ensued, according to Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office Deputies.

During the altercation, McDaniels pulled a knife and stabbed Traylor, police say.

McDaniels is Tiffany Traylor’s boyfriend, according to deputies.

McDaniels and Tiffany Traylor fled the scene in their vehicle and were later stopped by deputies.

Tiffany Traylor, 27, was not charged.

McDaniels was booked into the Arapahoe County Detention Facility on a charge of assault in the second degree, a Class 6 Felony which is punishable by 12 to 18 months in the Colorado Department of Corrections, and/or a fine from $1,000 to $100,000.
