County thanks boards and committees
By Peter Jones
The Arapahoe County Board of Commissioners recognized 144 citizens who have served on the county's various advisory boards and committees this year at a ceremony Oct. 19.
These volunteers serve on 23 advisory boards and committees that help shape the community. All are appointed by the elected board to provide insights on topics ranging from arts and 4-H youth development to the county’s budget and employee-retirement plan.
“It’s inspiring to see how much these citizens give back to Arapahoe County and their community,” said Board Chair Susan Beckman of Littleton. “We could not be such a resourceful government without their dedication.”
The county’s boards and committees include the Audit Committee, the Board of Adjustment, the Citizen Budget Committee, the Cultural Council, the Liquor Authority, the Fairgrounds Steering Committee, the Retirement Board and the Open Space and Trails Advisory Board.
Residents interested in serving can complete an application form at arapahoe.co.us or by calling 303-795-4630. Most terms expire the second week in February.
