Cripple Creek
Cripple Creek Parks and Recreation is open from 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Saturday and 12-5 PM on Sunday. We still only charge $10 for a monthly fitness membership, with no other initiation fees or charges to use the best workout facility in Cripple Creek.
Open Skating
Get some friends together and skate or rollerblade for only $2.00 including skates. We are open for skating and blading every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-4:30 PM and you also have the opportunity to play pool, air hockey, fooseball and other fun activities. Popcorn and cotton candy are also available for snacks.
Toys and Sporting Equipment Available in City Park
Visit the Parks & Recreation Community Center to borrow various toys and sporting equipment while enjoying a day at City Park. We provide sand toys, tennis equipment, basketballs, jump ropes, soccer balls, footballs and much more. Equipment check out is available through the Parks and Recreation Department’s front office.
Kids Rock University (K.R.U.) Schedule – K.R.U. is a licensed child-care program held at Cresson Elementary School for children 5 – 15 years of age. KRU meets after school and offers full day Fun Fridays. Call for information on November’s Field Trips 689-3514
Trip to Denver Art Museum and 16th Street Mall
Spend a day visiting the Denver Art Museum and the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver. How you spend the day is up to you and you don’t have to worry about driving or parking in Denver. We will start at the museum and from there the U.S. Mint is a short walk along with the Denver Public Library or catch the mall shuttle to do some shopping.

Free Tai Chi
Join instructor Jim Lyon for an evening Tai Chi session. Drop in and see how Tai Chi can work to calm down the mind, improve flexibility and balance. Jim teaches the 37 movement Yang Style Tai Chi which is one of the most popular and widely practiced forms of Tai Chi in the world.

Fitness Membership - Open Seven Days a Week!
Get in shape with a Cripple Creek Parks and Recreation “Fitness Membership”. Our facility offers Paramount equipment, free weights and fabulous Nautilus equipment. You can schedule a personalized fitness orientation and/or have an individual workout program designed especially for your fitness needs. The monthly membership fee is only $10.00 per person. Non-members can drop-in and use the fitness facility for only $3.00 per workout session. Purchase a ten-visit fitness punch card for only $15.00. Individuals ages 16+ are welcome to become fitness members (minors require signed parental permission). Corporate memberships are also available. Aikido
A passive non-combat form of self defense will be offered by well known instructor Chuck Caldwell. Classes will be forming with a limit of only 8 participants per session so make sure you sign up and reserve your spot. Aikido is performed by blending with the motion of the attacker and redirecting the force of the attack rather than opposing it head-on. The aikido practitioner "leads" the attacker's momentum using entering and turning movements. The techniques are completed with various throws or locks. Anyone age 14 and up are safe to practice this art.
