Led by coaches Don Edwards and Tom Gregory, the Tri-Lakes Little League 10-11 year-old All-stars won the 2009 District Championships in Denver this past week.

The team started off strong with a 10-0 win on July 11 as Adam Horton pitched a shutout to defeat Dry Creek, before Henry Smith and Conner Deeds combined on the mound to beat Cherry Creek the following day 9-4.

The Tri-Lakes’ bats came alive on July 14, highlighted by Matthew Call's two-run homer, sending them into the championship game with a 12-2 win over Colorado Springs.

Jack Stamper then took the mound for the final game July 16, and with a strong team effort that included a game-winning home run by Deeds; Tri-Lakes defeated Cherry Creek for a second time, winning the championship 5-4.

After sweeping the district tournament, the team now travels to Grand Junction as they move on to the Colorado State championships, which will be played between July 25-29.
