And the winner is … Tisha Skaggs of Woodland Park. In a raffle drawing at Papa Murphy’s in Woodland Park June 19, Skaggs won a $200 Brinkman gas grill. Along with the drawing, Papa Murphy owners Vickie and Jerry Good gave out samples of grilled pizza. “This is to demonstrate how well pizzas bake on the grill,” said Jerry Good. “They taste good!”Photo by Pat HilllDrawing the name out of the bucket was Woodland Park city councilman Jon DeVaux. “Jerry and Vickie represent the kind of restaurant that really does well in this community,” DeVaux said. Keller Williams, Peoples National Bank, 3D Mortgage, Farmers Insurance and the Woodland Exchange Building sponsor Tailgate Above the Clouds in the Keller Williams parking lot July 5. The event is a fundraiser for Safe Harbor, a safehouse for battered women, and features music from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. by Time Machine and a barbecue with four local chefs. The fundraiser is a preliminary to the Symphony Above the Clouds from 5 to 9 p.m. that evening.

The Crystola Roadhouse features the Steele Daniels Band at 8 p.m. July 3. The event is part of the second annual Woodland Music Week. Woodland Retail Alliance sponsors the Nashville Writers in the Round, Cory Mason and Shelby, from 4 to 7 p.m. July 4 at the roadhouse. Wild Wings and the Safeway Shopping Center feature Open Mic Night from 6 to 8 p.m. July 7. Bill Lareau plays at The Cowhand from 2 to 4 p.m. July 8 and from 4 to 6 p.m. July 9 at Gold Hill Java.

Park State Bank & Trust is host to Woodland Park’s Main Street Makeover from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 11. For information, check www.MainstreetMakeover.org.

Colorado Freemason Child Identification program will be at the Teller County Sheriff’s office booth from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Old Fashioned 4th of July in Memorial Park. The organization will provide free child-identification materials to parents interested in the program.
