Lewis-Palmer Girls Basketball
Lewis-Palmer traveled to Sierra Jan. 13 for a battle of two 8-2 basketball teams that were off to 2-0 starts in the 4A Metro League. Unfortunately for the Rangers, despite playing the Stallions extremely close for three quarters, Sierra went on a 20-8 fourth quarter run to pull away for a 51-34 victory.
Lewis-Palmer Ice Hockey
Brent Schwarz had a night to forget in goal for the Rangers on Jan. 14, as the LP netminder let in three of the six shots he faced and Lewis-Palmer (6-2) lost for the second consecutive time out falling 3-2 to Fountain Valley (2-7) at Sertich Ice Arena.
Joe Pierce and Travis Lachner both scored for the Rangers, who will be back in action when they face Pueblo County Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Colorado Sports Center.
Pine Creek Boys Basketball
The Eagles dropped their fourth straight ballgame with a 76-63 loss Jan. 13 at Rampart. With the loss, Pine Creek fell to 1-8 overall and 0-3 in the 5A Metro. The Eagles were within one of the Rams at the conclusion of the third quarter, but Rampart (9-1, 2-1) used a 25-13 advantage in the final frame to pull away for good.
Pine Creek Girls Basketball
In what was a close game the entire way, Pine Creek saw its two game league winning streak snapped Jan. 13 at PCHS at the hands of Rampart, 58-54. With the loss the Eagles slipped to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the 5A Metro.
Pine Creek Swimming and Diving
Cheyenne Mountain dominated Pine Creek in the pool on Jan. 13, winning by a score of 135.5-49.5. The Eagles, who picked up no first-place finishes on the day, had just one second-place finisher, as Kaitlin Lugo swam the 100 breaststroke in one minute, 24.55 seconds.
Pine Creek Ice Hockey
In a game that saw ties at 1-1 and 2-2, Phillip Edds scored the game winner for Pine Creek with just 1:04 remaining on the clock as the Eagles, after starting off their season 0-7, picked up their second win in a row, winning 3-2 over Rampart (8-4) at Sertich Ice Arena on Jan. 14.

Pine Creek Wrestling
Pine Creek once again proved why it is ranked No. 3 in all of 5A when it handed Doherty a 64-12 loss on Jan. 14. All but one of the Eagles victories came by way of a pin, while two of the three Doherty victories on the evening were decisions.
Palmer Ridge Boys Basketball
The Bears slipped to 8-4 on Jan. 13 with a 34-31 loss at the Classical Academy. According to head coach Nick Mayer, the team played great defensively, but just struggled to score. Mayer credited Garrett Fritzsche and Josh Kagarise both with solid all-around performances.
