Powerball awaits collection in Ranch

Did you buy a Powerball ticket at the Circle K convenience store on Red Cedar Drive?
If so, you need to check that ticket because it could be worth $1 million.
The ticket is a $200,000 winner, but the drawing night-generated multiplier was 5, meaning the take on the $2 ticket is a cool million in annuity payments or about half that as a cash sum.
The chance of winning $200,000 is one in 3,563,609.
The winning numbers for the Dec. 27 drawing were: 12, 15, 26, 31, 43 and the Powerball was 10.
Lottery officials suggest that winners contact a financial adviser before claiming large prizes.
Winners will be asked to make important decisions regarding how to receive the payment — as cash or a 30-year annuity.
It is also important to contact a financial institution to determine how to deposit such a large sum of money. There are Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. regulations that should be considered.
Officials said it was best to collect at the Denver office, 720 S. Colorado Blvd., or call 303-759-3552.
Prizes must be claimed within 180 days after the drawing date printed on the ticket.
