Road work at I-25 & Plum Creek

Commuters traveling south through Castle Rock this weekend can expect some delays as road work takes place to install new pavement and striping.

The Colorado Department of Transportation expects to begin work around 8 p.m. Dec. 21 on southbound Interstate 25 at the Plum Creek Parkway interchange, now under construction.

The work will require a traffic shift just north of the bridge at Plum Creek, south of the Fifth Street exit, said Bob Wilson, department of transportation spokesman. The shift to a temporary alignment could require closing down southbound traffic to one lane until work is complete.

Commuters should best plan on anticipated lane shifts and lane closures, Wilson said.

Depending on weather conditions, the work should be complete by the morning of Dec. 22.
