Elizabeth G. "Bette" Saunders, 89, of Douglas County died Feb. 15 at her home in Castle Rock.
Her funeral is at 11 a.m., Feb. 19, at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Funeral Home in Castle Rock. Interment will be at Spring Valley Cemetery in Spring Valley.
The daughter of Dave and Theodora (Noyes) Gilbert, Mrs. Saunders was born Oct. 31, 1914, in Cherry Valley.
She and Ben Saunders were married Dec. 9, 1945, in Colorado Springs. Mr. Saunders preceded her in death Nov. 27, 1987.
A seamstress, Mrs. Saunders was a member of the Jane Jeffersons, a volunteer for the American Red Cross and a member of the board of directors for the Castle Rock Museum Historical Society. She helped with local elections and enjoyed bowling and traveling.
Besides her husband, Bette was preceded in death by sister JoAnn Callahan and brothers Donald Gilbert and Jack Gilbert.
Mrs. Saunders is survived by niece Joyce Biggs and her husband, Ron, of Castle Rock; and cousin Virginia Stone of Wheat Ridge.
